One of Savannah’s most magical waterfront traditions is back, and we’re thrilled to join the celebration once again. Low Country Drifters will participate in the 2025 Savannah Lighted Boat Parade, part of the Eastern Wharf Holiday Kickoff, on Saturday, November 29, marking our third consecutive year in the event.

Launching from Eastern Wharf, the Lighted Boat Parade transforms the Savannah River into a glowing holiday spectacle—drawing locals and travelers who gather along the water to celebrate the season.

The Holiday Kickoff for 2025 will be held from 5–9 PM at The Park at Eastern Wharf in Savannah, GA. The event is free and family-friendly, featuring the lighting of the Christmas trees and live music from The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra. The Savannah Lighted Boat Parade will take place from 7–9 PM.

Before enjoying the boat parade, activities include the lighting of the Christmas tree, food trucks, and a visit from Santa Claus for photos!

Schedule of Events

• 5 p.m. Santa’s Grotto opens: Tree Lighting, Santa’s arrival
• 6 p.m. The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra begins
• 7 p.m. Boat Parade of Lights begins*
• 8 p.m. MC’s announce boats, judging continues*
• 9 p.m. Boats return to the dock at Eastern Wharf*

What to Expect

• Great local food trucks: Bayou Cafe, Pie Society, Slow Fire BBQ, The Big Cheese, The Naked Dog, Jonny Boy Cookies, and Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck
• Beer + Wine available for purchase (card only) at The Lowcountry Taps Park Bar
• Squirrel’s at Eastern Wharf serving their signature pizzas, wings, and a full bar
• Children’s Play area with views of the river
• Lawn chairs and blankets are allowed and encouraged. Please remember that no glass bottles of any kind are allowed in The Park, and only small, personal coolers are permitted. Please read and review all Park Rules here.

We love participating in traditions that honor Savannah’s waterways and coastal heritage. Each year, we decorate our boat with coastal-inspired holiday lights that reflect our passion for the river, wildlife, and Low Country landscapes.

A Riverfront Holiday Celebration

From the Plant Riverside District and River Street to the Eastern Wharf Street, the waterfront comes alive with:

• Local artisan pop-ups and seasonal food vendors
• Festive cocktails and Christmas-themed experiences
• Fire pits, river views, and family-friendly activities
• Stunning front-row views of the illuminated boats

It’s one of the best holiday events in Savannah and a perfect way to kick off the season.
